Ranch Tour History

Have you ever wondered where your food comes from? Well it's your lucky day, Brandon took the time to write up a little history on our family farm and how it has flourished in to what it is today.

Our farm was started in 1898 as a traditional homestead with livestock, hay, oats, wheat, corn and of course a large garden. The farm kept up with farming practices and used the most up to date equipment and ideas to be profitable. Our farm started going a different direction than mainstream farming in 1987, when soil health practices started becoming apparent.

In 2000, we transitioned to organic to be more profitable and because we didn't like the chemicals and all the possible unknown dangers associated with them. We then listened to God in 2020 and started converting our farm to a ranch to use less fuels and allow nature to become the main factor in our operation. We try to operate our ranch with nature, not against it, and provide the best possible food to our family and you.

Some ways that we have invested to begin reverting our ranch back to a more natural prairie:

    * We research and plant a diversified grass mix to support better soil health and nutrition/medicinal         properties for our livestock.

    * We rotational graze to mimic how indigenous livestock would have done years ago.

    * We are planting trees to improve soil health, provide shade and forage to livestock.

We are seeing the fruits of our labor... Our family and our customers see and feel the difference. Eating less while feeling just as full and nourished. Needing less, because ultimately they are getting more nutrition per ounce.
